Art and Resistance: Exhibition Opening “Beyond Molotovs”

06.07.2025
17:00 - 21:00

LiZA, Kassel

*in German below*

*in French below*

We’re inviting you to the opening of the traveling newspaper exhibition “Beyond Molotovs.” From 5 to 9 pm, we’ll be having dinner together, checking out the exhibition, hanging out and chatting—and there might even be some live music! The exhibition highlights different forms of resistance through multiple projects and collectives. The main questions behind these projects are: In which ways are collective art and aesthetics intertwined with acts of resistance? What role does music play, for example in the protests in Guinea? What about murals, like in feminist movements in India? And how can painting and aesthetics help political protests?

Most of the exhibition texts are in English. We’ll be looking at the exhibition together in small groups, and you can join in German, English, or French.

The exhibition will be displayed inside, up against the windows of LiZA. If you can’t make it to the opening, feel free to drop by anytime, or come to the open LiZA on July 15th from 5 to 9 pm to chat about the exhibition together.
