Mord and Carlo Giuliani

Before today 25 Years ago, 23-year-old Carlo Giuliani died on the sidelines of the G8 summit in Genoa. For the decentralized one, we spoke to people from Kassel, who were at the protests in Genoa at the time and reported on their experiences.

A carabiniere shot Carlo Giuliani in the head at close range in the midst of the chaos of street fighting and then ran him over twice with a car. His father, Giuliano Giuliani, traveled through Europe in the following years. In Kassel he also clarified the lies of the Italian police, who tried, to cover up the murder.

25 Years later, the movement has not forgotten Carlo. When tens of thousands took part in the protests and actions in Geneva against the G7 summit in June, Small posters with his face always stood out from the crowd, as if they were saying: If he were still alive, he would be here by our side.
