Daimler is expanding its arms business


Kassel factory supplies axles for military trucks

The group Daimler Truck has announced, its production in the military sector under the newly founded umbrella brand Daimler Truck Defence to increase. In the next few years, more military vehicles will be built through investments in the mid-three-digit million range.

The defense business will be a key growth driver in the coming years, Daimler justifies the investments. The Kassel plant also has around 2.800 Employees are involved in production and produce axles for the trucks.

Several states recently awarded major contracts Daimler: 7.000 Truck for the French, 1.500 for the Canadian and several hundred for the German armed forces.

Other car companies are also currently considering this, to get more involved in arms production. Most recently, plans were drawn up by VW public, future military vehicles and Parts for the Israeli missile defense system to produce.
