In Kassel one of the... 24 new Bundeswehr muster centers are created. Some of the men over 18 years of age will be there as part of the military service reform from 01. July 2027 must be sampled.
The city of Kassel was selected due to its high population density and a potentially high number of applicants. The Green Mayor Sven Schoeller was pleased with the new center.
There are already two Bundeswehr locations for civilians in Kassel- and further training as well as a career center in Waldau. The Ministry of Defense announced, that additional premises should be created for the mustering center.
On Friday there was another school strike against compulsory military service in Kassel. After the new conscription law came into force, The Bundeswehr has been sending out mandatory questionnaires to men since the beginning of this year 18 years. According to the Bundeswehr, however, a quarter of all young men ignored these letters.
