The Central Hesse Technical University (THM) plans until fall 2027 a new location to build in Kassel. Dual study programs should also work with arms manufacturers such as KNDS and Rheinmetall be cooperated. Together with other companies, they recently expressed a need for around 60 “practice-integrated” study places.

Hesse's Science Minister Timon Gremmels (SPD) supports the project, because in this way the need for skilled workers in the defense industry can be met. As a location, this will be technology- and incubator FiDT tested on the Marbachshöhe.

In contrast to the University of Kassel There is no civil clause at THM. 2023 the university ended a cooperation with Rheinmetall and KNDS due to the clause. The companies then entered into a partnership with THM locations further away.
