Assault against 16-year-old – Kassel doctor convicted

Yesterday, a doctor from Kassel was given a suspended sentence of seven months and a fine of 7 months for sexual violence 3.000 € condemned. The doctor's assault occurred against a 16-year-old. He was initially a patient of the doctor and was later recruited by him as an assistant.

Another witness reported in court about a similar attack. However, this case was not prosecuted, because the person concerned did not say “no” clearly enough. Unlike in some other countries, the principle “Only yes means yes” does not apply to sexual acts in Germany.

Whether the doctor's license will be revoked, The responsible authority now decides, as soon as the judgment is final.

Just three weeks ago, young female doctors reported sexual harassment at the German Medical Association. In recent months, more and more cases of sexual violence and abuse of power by doctors have become public.
