from 22. to 24. The third queer film festival will take place in Kassel in May. The program includes seven feature films and two short film programs. Documentary portraits are shown, Retrospectives and queer utopia designs.
The films deal, among other things, with escape and queer identity, the visibility of black trans people and transitions. In addition to local productions, international films are also shown.
A “best of” of the “Rosa Soap Bubbles” program will also be broadcast, which portrays Kassel's queer scene in the 1990s.
The film program is complemented by an extensive supporting program with a drag show, Dance performance by Kassel dancers:inside and exhibitions. There is also the option for many films, with the filmmakers:to have a conversation inside.
The Kassel Queerfilmfest is the only film festival in the region with a focus on queer life. The festival also serves this purpose, that visitors network locally and internationally.
