Am 6.4.2020 In Kassel, numerous people thought of Halit Yozgat in various forms, the before 14 Years in his internet café on Holländische Strasse by the neo-Nazis of the NSU and their network of helpers. Many remembered this, that central questions regarding the clarification of the NSU complex remain unresolved and that right-wing terror is still a virulent problem.
Due to the corona pandemic, the memorial event could not take place in the usual form on Halitplatz. Therefore, signs and flowers were placed at the memorial stone throughout the day, Advertising boards were redesigned and numerous banners were attached in the northern part of the city. The April 6th Initiative called for decentralized commemoration.
Commemorations were also held online on social media using the hashtag #halitgedenken, what the initiative documented. Link to documentation
