Rally in memory of George Floyd

On Tuesday, the 25. May 2021 gathered about 200 People at a rally in front of Kassel main station. The initiative called for Black People in Kassel, to commemorate the victims of racist police violence and the ongoing discrimination against black people in the USA on the first anniversary of the death of George Floyd, but also to be criticized in Germany.

Despite changeable weather and declining public interest, the initiative succeeded, to organize a relatively well-attended meeting. Above all, the declining public interest a year later may have been the reason, Why are there still significantly fewer participants?:came inside than the year before. At that time, up to 1,000 people showed solidarity in Kassel 3000 People with the anti-racist protest wave in the USA.

Speeches discussed unequal treatment when looking for housing or a lack of representation in public debates about racism. Between the contributions, live music was played or poems were recited.
