The plans for the Baunatal location are causing uncertainty and anger. There is no immediate threat of closure, but fewer model variants could reduce the need for components produced in Baunatal in the long term. Employees fear, that the austerity measures endanger jobs and the future of the location.
Baunatal chairman Carsten Büchling criticized the lack of transparency emphasized cohesion: “We will not divide.” The group works council is now increasing the pressure. In the works council newspaper he introduced VW boss Oliver Blume for today an ultimatum and demands clarity.
