– Employees at automotive suppliers demand a collective agreement
At the beginning of the week, workers:inside the automotive supplier Hanomag Solutions started a four-hour warning strike in Baunatal and Kassel. The first warning strikes had already taken place at the beginning of May. Since previous negotiations have not resulted in an agreement, The employees reiterated their demand for a collective agreement and higher wages.
Hanomag Solutions produces aluminum parts, among other things for VW. There are around two locations 340 people busy. According to union secretary Frank Klobes, the company's pay level is up to - despite longer working hours 30 percent below the level of collectively agreed companies in the industry.
“Now it’s definitely the employer’s turn”, Klobes said. If he doesn't move to the negotiating table, the employees are ready to fight. The IG Metall held out the prospect of a strike vote on further and longer strikes.
